On Saturday, April 12th, V-Day will stage a lifetime event -V To The Tenth- featuring international performance of the Vagina Monologues, musical guests, V-Day activits from around the world. Which include Kenya, Afghanistan, Iraq, The Philippines, Democratic Republic of Congo, Eastern Europe and much more.

Salma Hayek, Oprah Winfrey, Faith Hill, Jane Fonda, Jessica Alba, Jennifer Hudson, Glenn Close, Julia Stiles, Ali Larter, Marisa Tomei, Calpernia Addams, Rosario Dawson, Kerry Washington, and Charmaine Neville will all be apart of the event.

The event is to open minds and hearts and raise the needed attention and funds for groups working to end violence against women and girls around the world, including in New Orleans and the Gulf South.

“Sophisticated Styling 08” will be a plus-size fashion show starting at 7:30 p.m. at the African-American Research Library and Cultural Center at 2650 Sistrunk Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale. Local plus-size designer Desiree Fleming will present her spring/summer collection on local models. The entire collection will be on sale after the show. Ready to check out the hottest spring fashions? The West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority (DDA) and the students in the fashion management program at Boca Raton-based Lynn University have joined forces to present Downtown Fashion Rocks Fashion Show, on Friday, April 4 at 8:30 p.m. at Dr. Feelgood’s, located at 219 Clematis Street in Downtown West Palm Beach. Prior to the fashion show, which is free and open to the public, a silent auction and happy hour will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. for five-year old Max Clark, a West Palm Beach area resident who is battling acute lymphocytic leukemia, with proceeds benefiting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.


Taking place April 9-13, 2008, Miami Fashion Week is the largest Latin American and International fashion event in the US celebrating fashion, beauty, music, art and culture with participation from international designers and celebrities from all over the world. The five-day fashion event includes trends seminars, international business panel discussions, celebrity appearances and VIP after parties at South Beach’s premier lounges and clubs.


The Worth Collection, which designs and shows four collections per year of luxury ready-to-wear women’s fashions, is bringing Fashion Week to fashion-conscious women across the country over the next several weeks via chic trunk shows, and will be in Miami starting on March 19th. Those who attend will get a chance to glimpse first-hand all the key runway looks for Spring and Summer, which include eye-popping color, safari chic, art-smart looks and tribal prints.
