Let’s Have Fun on Instagram

Getting Personal Posted on %AM, March 27 2020 10:07AM

Most of us are in quarantine right now due the corona virus. With that we’re on Instagram, Facebook, Tick Tok and even Snap Chat even more than normal. So what not have some fun.

Yesterday I was browsing on Canva. If you don’t know what Canva is, it’s a platform that you can create documents, jpegs, and pngs for just about anything. I ran across these cool templates to create some fun interactive instagram stories. You know you’ve seen them. Those that you can tag your friends and they fill in and then tag more friends. The updated version of the chain letter. I’m always tagged in some so I decided to create my own.

I created three that you can find in my highlights on my planner Intagram account @satinplans.

Gratitude Top 5

Since we’re all stuck inside trying to stay healthy and virus free. I decided to create a gratitude template to help us remind ourselves why we should be grateful. Because there are so many people sick and fighting for their lives.

This & That Planner Edition

This one is a fun version of this and that but for planner heads. A fun template for anyone that is into planners.

My Planner Favs

This one is a cool one where you can tag your favorite planner brands. A cool way to give your favorite brands some love and some business too hopefully.

I had so much fun creating them and I hope you enjoy them too. I’ll definitely create some more in the near future. Make sure to follow me on Instagram so you don’t miss out.

Weekly Pre Plan

Planning Posted on %PM, March 19 2020 01:29PM

When it comes to planning for your week it’s great to have a plan of what exactly is going on for that week. That was the idea behind my Weekly Pre Plan insert. You can jot down what’s happening every day of the week, goals and essentials. A great insert to put in between your inserts for that week and when the week comes to actually plan out you have everything already jotted down. Then simply take the insert out of your planner and throw it away.

You’ll be glad you added this insert to planning system.

What We’re Reading: Russian Mob Chronicales

Reading List Posted on %PM, March 17 2020 04:38PM

I haven’t done one of these posts in ages but this series was so good that I had to share it. If you love a fast pace book that has tons of action then this series is for you.

Nikola: Russian Mob Chronicles is about a law intern and a Russian Mafia prince and all the things that can happen within any mafia.. Where a lot of authors would make one of these books and it would be broken up into 3 or more. This I could seriously see made into a action movie. From the characters to the settings. Shandi did an amazing job and I’m totally sad that the series is over. I’m glad there is a spin off but I want to know what happens next with these too.

I truly want to go into a honest review and give you all the details but what is the fun is that if I give it away. Let’s just say there is an happy ending in the end. The bad guy dies but in my opinion should of had a more horrible death then given. It should of been more drawn out. He got off too easy but that could be Scorpio in me talking. There is tons of guns, fights, sex, action and simply fast pace.

I’m definitely going to checkout more of Shandi Boyes books and series.I highly suggest that you check out this series and the rest of her books.

My Journaling Style

Planning Posted on %AM, February 13 2020 08:10AM

I’ve been ask in groups how do I come up with my journaling pages. Do I use prompts and etc.? I even did a step by step in my Instastories but I think I need to do a blog post with detail to show you how I do my journaling page.

It’s so simple and effortless. I do my journaling pages early in the morning before I start my day. I reflect back on the day prior and choose one event, situation or comment that was said to me and then I go from there. I then gather my materials which includes my favorite journaling pen, washi tapes, and stickers.

To begin, you must start with a blank page.

Then create the border motif which features the theme for the month. This month since it’s February my theme has hearts so I put three hearts in the corner of the page flanked by lines on either side. You necessarily don’t have to do this. This is something I do to tie the pages into the monthly theme.

Don’t forget to date your page. I notice I a lot of people don’t do this. It would be good even months from now to go back and look but you don’t recall what day the event or etc. happened on.

Since I have the event in mind from the previous day. It’s time to write down the title or theme of the page. I somehow come up with these cute lil’ themes every time. Let it just come to you and write it down. Now onto the fun stuff.

Washi time… I literally have a draw fullof washi to choose from. Since this page is a love theme I’ve pulled a tape with red with white polka dots, another that says ” I love you”, another is pink glitter washi and the last has xoxo’s. Don’t worry, I’m not going to use all of them..

Based on the other embellishment I plan on using I choose the polka dot washi and the I love you one. Place them however you want to. I normally place mine near the spine of the page .

I then pulled some stickers which happen to be from my website and are my two VDay sticker sets. I’ll be using stickers from both sheets to decorate the page. I like to make my pages pretty but I don’t go overboard. It’s not about the decorations but really about the what I’m going to write later on the page.

As you can see I didn’t go crazy with the stickers. I place them along the edge of the page so I have more then enough writing space. And I’m done with decorating the page.

My journaling style is really no fuss. Some days it’s heavily decorated other times I draw. Whatever your journaling style make it your style. It should come naturally or organically to you.

What’s your journaling style?
